Stereotyping can lead to misunderstandings, perpetuate biases, and contribute to societal divisions. Addressing these issues requires empathy, open dialogue, and a willingness to challenge preconceptions. Stereotyping can have different effects on different people. Some individuals may feel marginalized, misunderstood, or unfairly judged, leading to negative emotional impacts. Stereotyping can also limit opportunities, reinforce prejudice, and create barriers to social inclusion. It's important to combat stereotypes by promoting diversity, fostering understanding, and challenging assumptions. Encouraging respectful and inclusive conversations can help break down stereotypes and create a more accepting society.

It's important to recognize that every person is an individual and should be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their race or ethnicity. For me and my opinion it is something sad what happened at that time and how it was normalized to treat other humans in such a cruel way. In general, people were seen as inferior and were treated with discrimination and prejudice. In my person or around me I have never witnessed an act of ridicule or something caused by stereotypes but I think that living something like this makes you a person insecure of yourself. Despite the fact that significant advances have been made in the fight against racism, there are still many entrenched prejudices in society that affect people, discrimination in work, housing, education and health care, among other aspects of life.

My Personal View about stereotyping is the down grade people give you with the first look of your characteristics or just skin color. It shouldn't be right for those thinking they are born with a disadvantage or thought of not being capable of becoming anything they want in America because of their race, skin color, or politics. Throughout my personal experiences i've witnessed this stereotypical act caused towards me and my peers because of our Mexican race. Not meaning it had affected us much in our great noble hustle but taking away big views and goals of accomplishing much bigger things than just sticking with what Mexican are known for, to work construction,in farms, and etc where all of us have started. Its not fair for us getting told in our face what we were born for when we know we are much bigger than that.

I felt the second hand hurt from the video because I have also experienced stereotyping before in my life time. I do believe stereotyping or negative mindsets are bad and affect people and their behaviors or performance. I have experienced stereotyping because of my race; one of my old teachers told my class that we would be running three miles for our next class period and that most of the class will never run that much again in our lives, but because of my race and my fashion and buzzed head my teacher said that i might have to run a distance to get away from the cops. I did not let it get to me because i thought it was a bit funny but coming from my teacher i believed it to be very immature and unprofessional and even racist. I let my teacher get away with it but he definitely lost all my respect that day.

The video "Uncle Tom" had a profound impact on me. It offered a genuine and eye-opening portrayal of the often-overlooked realities surrounding race and politics. Watching it felt like a powerful revelation, uncovering a side of politics that is seldom discussed or acknowledged. Being a 16-year-old with a Mexican background, I have encountered stereotyping in my own life. I have experienced hurtful name-calling, slurs, and I have witnessed my mother facing similar mistreatment. These experiences have affected me, leaving me feeling wounded and frustrated. It is disheartening to be judged solely based on preconceived notions and stereotypes, as it undermines my sense of individuality and devalues my worth as a person. The video served as a stark reminder of the far-reaching consequences of stereotyping. It reinforced the importance of understanding historical context and acknowledging the diverse perspectives that exist.

My opinion on the film is I partially agree and the reason why it is partial is because I personally believe both the democrats and the republicans are the same party and that the government wants to make you think you have a choice but both parties suck,The part I do agree with is how stereotyping does affect how people achieve the power of the mind is very powerful and the more you manifest bad thoughts and outcomes the more it will come to be true. I have experienced being stereotyped before, It was because of age teachers already have a mindset that all students are rude and or automatically think you are doing something bad,When the teacher already shows lack of respect me as a student does not have to deal with that especially since respect is mutual, the only time me as a student will ever be "disrespectful" is when I have to defend myself to adults or teachers who show close mindedness and do not even get to know me as a person.

I feel that the people talking who are talking are right many black people unfortunately let their anger get the best out of them. I'm not black so I couldn't talk about what its like to be black in America. However I'm Mexican and I have faced stereotypes, some stereotypes aren't about race some stereotypes people have created based on just how look. For example when your teacher judges you for some strange reason and proceeds to put you on the spot Then says to says that you want attention for having your backpack on your lap. Now why would my teacher know or HOW could this teacher be so sure that you wanted attention without even knowing you?? To make it a point to the whole class to look at you because you wanted attention?? For having your backpack on your lap? Or when this teacher insinuated again to the whole class, that instead of being successful id be a cocktail waitress for simply drawing?? Anyways I have also faced racially motivated stereotypes, I've been told to go back to Mexico, or that I was ghetto or the "bad influence" because of my race. But I don't let that put me in the victim perspective because I know that if I want to make something of myself I have to not care what anyone says and just focus on my goal. Basically just block off everyone's negative energy in my life because nothing good comes from focusing only on the bad things. You'll only start growing anger inside you which will eventually dig you down deeper that you already are, and I think that's what the people from this movie were saying>

My feeling about this film is that it shows a lot of depth into how black people are affected by so many stereotypes just because of the color of their skin which is beyond their control, they didn't chose to be born black and to be called all these stereotypes. I feel that this could be a good powerful message for the next generations to come especially those of color who will face challenges in their life. 2. I've experienced stereotyping once in my life, when a friend of mine said that all women are dumb and that they can't do anything better than a man, It really affected me till I got to high school and still haunts me to this day. Stereotyping is not a good thing to do or feel, mistreating someone over where they are from, whats their ethnicity or sex can lead to problems from the person stereotyping to the person getting stereotyped. It is a problem that can be worked with by talking situations out or actually knowing the background of a person and how they really are. For example you might think oh because this person is this race and this sex and from here they wont be successful not knowing they can be more successful then you, Me personally i have for been stereotyped bye people for being a 15 year old hispanic wanting to buy a $50k sports car, and while they thought it was funny they didnt know i had been working for a while and had all the cash in hand no loans needed. What I have learned from the film is that stereotyping is a harmful practice that can have serious consequences for individuals and communities. The video I watched describes highlights how Black people have been stereotyped based on their race and political beliefs, specifically referencing the term "Uncle Tom." This stereotype is often used to demean or belittle Black individuals who are perceived as being submissive or betraying their own race. In my opinion this Is unfair to the people who suffer from this and deserve better in life . I have been stereotyped by people because of my race. They think that we are in gangs and do certain jobs that many hispanics do. All this stereotyping eventually has a effect on me but I always try to brush it off.

1. I think it is unfair that black people have experienced so much racism. The film showed a lot of what black people went through and had to overcome. I think the film did a good job on showing what has happened to the black community in this past century and why it happens. There is a fatherless generation growing in black communities and its only risen since the 60s. Before the 60's, 80% of black families had a mother and a father raising their children and that percent has only decreased. There should be more films that speak on this issue to bring it more awarness. 2. I have experienced stereotyping because of my age before when I joined a soccer team. I was 10 and all the other kids were 12 and they all didn't think I was good at playing soccer since I was 2 years younger than them. This affected me because at first they wouldn't want to pass me the ball or even really talk to me. So I hated being in that team and even asked my mom if she could take me out of the team. I stayed until we had our first scrimmage and I proved them wrong about me and showed them that I was actually good and overcame the stereotype that most of the team has on me.

Q1 After I watched that film it was interesting to know on how people were treated because of the color of their skin or because they are not educated well and hearing what people had to say was interesting because what people were saying back then all reflects and relates to what people are talking about now and I heard someone in the video say that when they were little that had people that were the same race as them apart of their family were really educated or doing good financially and they didn't even know about because people didn't talk about them publicly and back then it was more common for a black man to stay with his family then it is now and that says a lot. Q2 I have experienced stereotyping in my life because of my skin color and it affected my thoughts on other races. This happened about 4 years ago when me and my classmates flew to Washington DC for a field trip and we were staying at a hotel and when were all going to eat downstairs I was stopped by a worker and she asked me if I was staying hear and I said yes but she didn't believe me so she called security and they pulled me in to an office and held me there until I had shown proof that I was staying there and they had pulled none of my classmates and in my head I knew that she was doing this because of the color of my sking and it affects me still to this day.

MY thoughts on the film was how society makes people's views change when it comes to color, race, gender or clothing. Stereotyping is a complex issue that has damaging effects on individuals and communities of color. It maintains biased judgments and reinforces discriminatory attitudes towards others. This film is important to help open the eyes of people to recognize the harm created to discriminate people, and to work towards better understanding, empathy, and respect among diverse groups of people. A stereotypical experience I have encountered was when someone told me i couldn't do something because I am a girl, and that girls shouldn't be building things because women are weak and don't know how to read instructions. I disagreed and proved the person wrong and built an entire bed for one of my cousins by myself.

It serves as a reminder to us all that we must cooperate in the battle against injustice and in the pursuit of a brighter future.Yes, due of my age, sex, color, and where I reside, I have encountered stereotyping throughout my life. I have grappled with stereotypes that I believed did not fairly represent my character or abilities because of my gender, age, and color. Additionally, I have encountered local preconceptions that have lowered expectations for my ability to succeed outside of my immediate area.My point of view and sense of worth were negatively impacted by the stereotyping of me. 1. uncle tom is associated with the stereotype of black people because is has been used as a derogatory label to stereotype and criticize black people who are perceived as subservient or accommodating to white people or who are seen as betraying their own race. when in reality they are individuals who are being polite, respectful, or work within the system and are referred to people who are betraying their community or are not authentically black. it perpetuates the notion that black people should conform to certain expectations or behave in specific ways to be considered legitimate members of their community. it is important to challenge and reject such stereotypes, as they undermine efforts to promote understanding, equality, and respect among all people. 2. i have experienced stereotyping, when i was hanging out with some white people they were curious if i ate beans everyday and tacos, it did not affect me in any way because i know that its very traditional to eat beans and tacos as a Mexican and they were just curious if that was all we ate, they had no bad intentions in hurting mine or anybody's feelings.

I feel that the whole purpose of this video was to not only inform people of black racism across America but to involve people in the political doings of democrats that most people might've not known. My opinion on this video is that Republicans might not politically align all the way but neither do Democrats. I also believe that people should wake up and see the world for what it really is. It took me a while to see racism because growing up in Sandiego this city is just automatically diverse with a variety of ethnicities but as I got older I see it more than I know. The first time it happened I was riding my bike home from my grandmas in National City I was in middle school, a cop threw me off my bike just cause I had a backpack on and my speaker playing and searched me for any drugs or weapons and still didn't find anything. 1. This film opened my eyes to the issues of stereotyping and racism in the US. There was also lots of debate over whether a Democratic or Republican stand is the right choice. I was very impressed and shocked by the fact that people turn out to follow the stereotypes that are stated about them, because the power is all in their mind, and being heard you can't do something, will manifest in you having zero confidence in the task, therefore failing. This just proves how much deeper stereotypes are to us mentally. 2. I have experienced stereotyping in my life based mostly on my sex. Being a young girl trying out for sports at an early age, I constantly felt like I was being judged and unsupported because everyone saw me as weaker than the males. I tried out for flag football when I was in sixth grade, and all the guys on the team made me feel lower than them, which I feel made me do worse on the field. This stereotype affected me to give up on sports for a while and truly believe they weren't for me, which could've potentially ruined certain opportunities for me if I simply believed in myself and tried my hardest.

1. The film did a good job of explaining the problems that are happening in the black communities and why the problems are happening. The republicans and democrats have had a long history of doing good and bad things and the way they explain things and debunk ideas that have been pushed to you by one party that are not true is great since you usually don't get to learn that some of these ideas are fake in school. They should keep making these types of films so that students could learn more of the stuff on this subject that they don't teach in school. Black communities have been affected 2. But it made me realize other people don't care or understand for people and like to stereotype.in the film I felt like it is unfair and they should be treated better

My main feelings about the uncle tom film were positive. I feel as if martin Luther king junior was standing his ground and being the thousands and millions of voices to speak out when they couldn't. He is one of the main reasons today why integration exists, and We can all go to the same school together and not worry about our race. MLK is the man who truly changed the nation with his words, simply because he only said what people needed to hear. I have not experienced any stereotyping in my life yet, But I probably will in my adult years.
