Dear George Floyd, My heart is really really heavy for you and your family right now. After watching the video my mind was so filled with anger, heartbreak, and sadness that yet again another death of an African American has passed away. What those cops did was unforgivable and brutal to human life. So brutal that not even an apology can be accepted or given. You deserved to live, you deserved to go home, and you deserved to go about our day without any hassle. Nd the fact that didn’t happen is insane to me. I can’t even watch the video without questioning “why?” and “for what?”. They had NO RIGHT… NO RIGHT. What kills me most is that you told them YOU COULDN’T BREATHE, just makes break down because you didn’t have to die like that. Nd the cops that just watched you are just as guilty and need to spend life in prison. But a lot has happened since you passed, we have been protesting, started a rebellion, and are expecting a CHANGE in this senseless society. We are gonna fight for you and make sure your name doesn’t live in vain. US THE PEOPLE are gonna fight for not just you but for every AFRICAN AMERICAN that has lost their lives to police brutality. You were the last straw and we’re gonna make a CHANGE. Nd I just want you to know that I’m fighting for you as well and I will tell your story. I send my prayers to you and your family. The thing of dealing with this pain of issue people are unhappy and going into a riot because of what the 4 police did to him so what I'm dealing is to bring peace for the people and the 4 cops must be guilty of the murder of George Floyd. So what I suggesting that we should do is bring peace for all the people that it's causing this people to feel anxious, mad and causing these people of going into a mayhem what think is that people needed help and never cause mayhem.

Hi George, I somehow can feel your anxiety as I type this. I know things didn't turn out as well as you would think coming from an officer who took an oath to protect the people of his city, but many fight for your cause. Due to your death, even though death should not be an act of "justice" served by an officer but by a court, which is cruelly inhumane considering the circumstances of your arrest. You have opened the eyes of millions of people and as well as their voices too, because of you, more people are united. More than we have ever been in a while. Im sorry that your life was wrongfully taken from you, I send my condolences up to you as well as light and protection to your family.

What has been disheartening to me is not only the injustice against George Floyd but also the realization that it is only a reflection of a flawed system that enables law enforcement to commit crimes without being held accountable. Its a reflection of the systemic racism that has allowed the murder of George Floyd, as well as many other people of color, to go unpunished. For this reason, I believe it is our duty, as citizens, that we protest, spread resources, and do all we can to ensure we create a system that works for all of us; irregardless of the prejudices some may hold towards our race, gender or religion.

Our country is in pain due to the circumstances in which you tragically left this world. Nothing can bring you back, but maybe we can bring you justice. Those of us who are seeking justice are taking your death very seriously and personally as a means to bring change in this country. As a result, there's an uprising of social activists that are opening their eyes to the systematic oppression that has been plaguing our country for over four centuries, and we're willing to make tangible change that we want to see in our lifetime. You died at the feet of police brutality, and our country will not forget the abuse, discrimination, fatalities, and overall corruption that has plagued the police force. I sincerely hope that I get to see defunding, abolition and reform of the police system in order to better respond to emergencies in a more effective, gentle, and less deadly manner. We can't bring you back, but this is a beginning of serious change to address racial injustice caused by white supremacy, ignorance, racism, and abuse of power. You have reminded the country that black lives are precious and deserved to protected and preserved. Your death has brought our black brothers and sisters so much pain, but there will be change. If our country can create then abolish slavery, establish and dismantle segregation, then I believe we can abolish, reform, and improve the incarceration and law enforcement systems that were designed to oppress black people. For now, young activists are beginning to educate, inform, and teach themselves as well as others on how to go about this. We will bring you justice. Black lives matter- on this day, and every day.

Dear George, I write this with a heavy heart you should be smiling today next to your daughter not 6 feet under the ground. What happened to you is infuritating not only because of the fact you were killed even after exclaiming you couldn't breathe but it bothers me it had to be filmed in order for you to get justice. That it took several days of protests and signing petitions for our voices to be heard not only for you but for all the victims of police brutality. It's also ridiculous that we still are fighting for the same thing our grandparents fought for, nothing has changed in these years innocent black lives are taken from this earth nearly everyday. You hear black people asking themselves "am I next?", "is it safe for me to go on a run?", "is it dangerous for me to walk home listening to music?" these are questions nobody should ever think to themselves what has this world come to? To George Floyd, What these "defenders of peace" did was truly an unforgivable crime of hate and prejudice and I just want to say that your passing was not in vain. All of these decades of unneeded tension between the same humans, just a different skin tone, has finally given in and caused an international uproar. I just wish that the catalyst for such a dramatic change didn't involve someone's sacrifice, but you inspired the general public and now we're saying "Enough is enough". Some may see you as a martyr, someone who had his life taken believing that the world was filled with good enough people that it could change into a haven for all people of all colors and beliefs coexisting in harmony. But I'm sure you didn't think that at all. You may have been scared actually. Scared that the atrocious side of human beings may just be far too oppressive and spiteful for us to accomplish any good deed in this world. In that moment, I'm sure you were scared you wouldn't see your wife and child again and that you were helpless against it simply because you lacked the criteria of an officer's image of an "upstanding citizen". A life can never be taken back but it can and will be remembered in the annals of justice and we will receive justice for your sake and your family's. May you forever rest in peace George Floyd. I feel that everything that has happened so far throughout the weeks with this situation, is understandable to be angry and want to protest, police officers obviously have a job to do and will unfortunately have to end somebody’s life for their own safety but this was not the case, for whatever reason George Floyd was being detained he did not resist or even oppose any kind of threat to the officers he was begging for his life, those officers are an example of why the many ongoing police brutality protest that are going on happen.I believe that there are many corrupt and racist cops and they shouldn’t even be handed a badge ,but I also believe that not all cops are bad and they have a job to do and are reasonable without using unnecessary force and I feel as if a lot of people perceive almost all cops as bad which is not the case.Overall, George Floyd did not deserve to die this way no one should, those cops deserve to be in prison for the rest of their lives and RIP to George Floyd a good soul and condolences to the Floyd family.

These are my opinions on what happened to George, 1921 tulsa race massacre. white privileged males went around burning people of color because they felt empowered to do so, they burned businesses and destroyed homes, they took families from each other BECAUSE OF RACE! now in 2020 target refused to sell protesters that where being sprayed and tear gassed, peaceful protesters that are fighting for justice and equality being attacked by police forces. the riots are not right or in any way justified but this is only getting worse because the police don't respect the people. police men are tricking peaceful protesters to kneel then attack them with rubber bullets. this is not america that so many men and women have put their lives at risk with, this is not part of the constitution where all people are given the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. instead THIS IS AMERICA where a person of color can not feel safe with police officers, THIS IS AMERICA where white privilege is 100% real, THIS AMERICA where people come as immigrants and get racially profiled for the color of their skin for their culture and their religion. THIS IS AMERICA where if a white cop lifts up his 3 fingers for white privilege he is paraded by americans, but when a person if color peacefully lifts up a closed fist in support of BLACK LIVES MATTER they get a rubber bullet shot at them. people of color have said ENOUGH is ENOUGH, enough racial profiling, enough to letting white people tell us where we are from and where we can be or where we can express our culture. THIS IS NOT JUST ABOUT FLOYD THIS IS ABOUT ALL THE INJUSTICE THE COUNTRY HAS COME TOO! THIS IS AMERICA where "i cant breathe" was not heard in time but this is not america that our ancestors have fought so long to build, so many people have risked their lives for equality and we have not been heard yet.

George did not die in vain because his death meant a lot to everybody. Because of his unfortunate death, people from minority groups to others in different cities, they began to protest against the racism and injustice within the government that was formed to protect the citizens. He helped humanity take one step forward towards change; for a better society where people wouldn't have to worry about racism. Right now, Black Lives Matter the most because they get more hatred than other minorities at the moment. Rest in peace, George, you didn't deserve death but I hope the afterlife treats you better than humanity.

When looking at the death of George Floyd it is a tragic situation. A police officer kneeled on his neck for nearly 9 minutes. There is nothing anyone can say that will change the fact that he did not deserve to die. Following his death we see peaceful protests which remind us of the marching MLK held. Peaceful displays of community coming together to honor a memory and fight for a cause. But, alongside the good comes the bad and destruction. Riots, looting, blocking freeways, and violence are other things taking place across the country. In my opinion, you cannot fight the violence that took Floyds life with more violence. The family of George Floyd has even stated that this violence is not what they wish for. We need to fight against unnecessary deaths like Floyds while also being respectful and watching how we act in response to the death.

In my opinion it is not right for to treat people diffrently because of their skin color. He did not deserve to die , it is unfair the fact that he was telling the police officer he couldnt breathe and he still didnt do anything about it . Im glad people stood up about it and hopefully make a diffrence of what is happening with racism, r.i.p

Your life was ended too early, no matter what the situation you were in it will never be right. Nothin will excuse the actions that were taken and there should be justice, not for only you but everybodys life that has been taken by the police. You were one of the many many lives that have been taken by the police and is a person of color. Your death sparked something in everything around the world and everybody is coming together to make sure that doesnt happen again and that the killers behind the badges face justice.

Hey George Floyd I'm sorry that you faced a horrible injustice. It makes me so sad when I think about how racism affects the world. It makes me so mad that people don't see that everybody is equal and everybody should be treated the same and everybody deserves it no matter what color your skin is. I am a Mexican 17 year old female and I know how it feels being seen as "less'' because people think that we don't deserve to live in America. I hope that you see how you have changed the world right now. People are fighting for your justice and the justice of black people all over the world. Black lives matter and I hope to see the world change that that you get the justice you deserve.

If anything can be learned from this atrocity, it is that the system is broken. It is a system that’s foundation lies upon the perpetual abuse and abandonment of its very own people. The wealthy are favored and the very people who contribute the most to sustaining the United States capitalist agenda are neglected and trapped in a never ending cycle of poverty. This very system is the system that has contributed to the belief that the less fortunate are worth less simply because they’re monetary value is a representation of their contribution to society. You, Mr . Floyd, are a victim of this very same system and deserve justice.

Hello George, What I have witnessed in the past few weeks is absolutely shocking and very disappointing. Your death made a huge impact on society and has led to making people aware on police brutality and active racism. You were one among the hundreds of black men that get killed over police brutality on the daily, which is what sparked the need to change things around and end racism for good. We will use your memory to continue to fight against social injustice and increase awareness throughout our communities. It was supposed to be an arrest, not a murder. Me and thousands of others understand that this was purely an act of racist behavior and things need to change starting now. You will get your justice, but until then there will be no peace.
