Becoming an IB Diploma candidate was the best descision of my high school career here at Bonita Vista High School. Even though there were many days, where I thought I would not be able to survive the program with it's many deadlines and projects, I always had the support of Mrs. Anderson, my friends, my family, and my teachers. This program helped me grow more open-minded, compassionate, and knowledgeable.

Not only have I learned what my teachers taught me, but also I learned to be open minded, determined, mature, and responsible. I will never forget all of the amazing people and teachers that have helped me with this big change in my life. And a big thank you to my beautiful family, I wouldn’t be here without your support. I am happy to say that I am now the person I have always strived to be.

I'll be honest, I have mixed feelings about the IB program, it’s kind of hard to love it when you find yourself in a coffee induced stupor at 2 am finishing your work or studying. But at the end of the day I feel a sense of satisfaction and I greatly enjoyed getting to know everyone in IB. The program has helped me improve in many areas and has definitely made me a better person. I’m glad to have been in the program and getting to know the people in it.

PERSONAL

Admittedly, the past two years have been rough. With endless demands upon expectations and college in the back of my mind, I faced stressful nights (and early mornings) all too often. Deadlines seemed to never end. The IB program has proved to be relentless, indeed, but I found incredible comfort in my struggle alongside 44 other outstanding individuals. I want to thank you all, from my devoted teachers to our extraordinary coordinator to my unbelievably patient parents. High school has been an unforgettable experience.

Writing about my experience in IB is hard. But all I can say is that It has gifted me with moments and create friendships that I will cherish for the rest of my life, and I just want to thank everyone for that. Thank you.

Terrible. Actually, that would be a half-truth. The work was terrible. But the people I got to know and become closer with made the experience worth it. Everyone in IB was so awesome and it was nice having fellow peers to rage and cry with about IB. Oh yeah. IB memes also became applicable. Overall, a good experience coupled with annoying work on the side.

My IB experience has been one to remember. Through getting closer to my teachers and fellow IB candidate students I have formed a family that will always be close to me. IB has showed me how to be confident around others and how to express myself the way I want to. I have learned how to persevere in my endeavors no matter how big the challenge may be, through the extended essay, CAS and bugging Ms. Anderson, IB has made me the person I am.

Rigorous, is the one word to describe my experience in the IB Diploma program these past two years; never before have I had to write 2,000 word essays and develop new ways of thinking. My time in the IB program had allowed me to experience new things that I’ve never thought of doing. Although at times it was quite stressful trying to keep up with deadlines, writing long essays, while keeping up with work from my other classes, I couldn’t have done it without the support of the IB students, my teachers, and Ms. Anderson.

PERSONAL

Perhaps if I had known what I was getting myself into I wouldn't have joined IB. In the beginning I didn't truly realize IB isn't about the Extended Essay, CAS and the white gown. At times it seemed like those sleepless nights and endless assignments weren't worth it. But I have come to appreciate the opportunity to challenge myself and learn along with the finest group of students in Bonita Vista. I am lucky to have developed many friendships and become part of a special family that has shaped who I am and where I’m going.

Instead of writing a standard reflection, I decided to write the reflection as if I was making an acceptance speech for an Oscar. What a crazy four years it has been my fellow inmates. I’d like to thank Mom&Dad&Josh for screeching at me, I mean helping to motivate me to complete my homework. I would also like to thank Mrs. Anderson for putting up with me, all my teachers for placing so much knowledge in me in the best way possible and, Mr. Garcia showing me how fun English can be. And the gun-show. For helping IB look better.

PERSONAL

I hold no praise for the IB curriculum or its practices, what I must recognize, though, is the unfailing sense of comradeship it has produced - without that there would have been no IB for me. Working all day with the knowledge that I will hold conversations with interesting friends in the evening was my main fuel tank. Ms. Anderson was, for me, the cream in the coffee; I couldn't have done as I did without her.
